Shadow Realms Review: The World Called It Average. We Didn't Agree.
Our score isn’t a copy of theirs — and that gap is the whole story.

Shadow Realms drops you into a sprawling open world from minute one, and the level of detail is obvious right away. Movement feels smooth, and switching between weapons is fast without ever feeling clunky or like it needs a learning curve.
The story follows an amnesiac warrior trying to piece together his identity amid a faction war over control of the city. It starts slow, but picks up fast after the first couple hours.
Combat has real weight to it — every weapon has its own rhythm, and nothing feels objectively “better” than the rest, it’s all about your playstyle. Side characters have more depth than you’d expect from a game this size, and most of them come with a small story arc worth following.
Visually, the attention to detail is clear, especially in the lighting and environment design. The city feels genuinely alive — markets, tight alleyways, and NPCs going about routines that have nothing to do with the main story.
Our Verdict
Let’s be upfront — internationally, this one landed as a mixed bag. But we saw something different. The Arabic dub was one of the strongest we’ve heard this year, and the story hits cultural notes that feel closer to home than we expected from an international studio.
That’s exactly why we run two scores. What matters to a global outlet isn’t always what matters to an Arab gamer — and Skora exists to be honest about that gap. This one’s worth your time, especially if you’re someone who values dubbing and stories that feel culturally close.
